Ganpati Bappa Morya

I find this image very cute :)

One interesting aspect of India and Hindus is that here we do not consider God as someone who lives in the sky and judges all of our actions, or curses us if we do something called sin. God is so much personified here that we consider God as our own family member. We have created as many images of single God as we can, for all our situations of life and aspects of nature. Kids from a very young age start recognizing so many gods (which are aspects of the same Divine) as their own friends and family. Most of the time we call gods and goddesses as Ram Ji, Krishn Ji, Durga Ji, by adding “Ji” in the end which is an address of respect, just like we would call Dada Ji, Bua Ji, Chacha ji, Uncle ji, to our family members. Just like when we see our elders we fold our hands and say “pranam” to them, or we touch their feet, when we see a god in a temple while walking or traveling, we look and offer our pranam to the god, folding our hands.

In the above image, a small kid is looking at Ganesh Ji not as someone understood and alien, but as his own Ganesh Ji. “Ganpati Bappa Morya” means Salutations to My Lord Ganpati!
