Is it possible to appreciate a woman for her cooking; saying that she cooks very-very well? Someone questioned such appreciation saying that all women cook well and it depends on her family’s taste whether they appreciate her or not. The implying conclusion was that no woman should be appreciated for her cooking; because all women cook well.
I think obviously cooking is an art (also a science as such) and just like all forms of arts there would be good and bad cooks, just like there are good and bad artists/painters/singers/actors/etc. No one is questioning one’s internal feelings. A pathetic singer can sing from his heart and yet create a commotion. It is true that tastes vary and what appears more appetizing to one may not appear the same to another; but that does not mean artists can never be judged on their art. It is possible to judge a piece of art without personal biases. Hence we have different classes of artists.
